It is a neoclassical building with rich decor, furniture, textiles, embroideries, and photographs. On the ground floor, the impressive collection of items from the great general Ioannis Alexakis stands out. On the first floor of the house, there is a permanent exhibition of the cultural heritage of the Lasithi Plateau, featuring an extensive collection of photographs and characteristic items from the area.

The last room has been designed in the style of a classroom from the past century, intended for educational programs related to Folklore and the windmills of the Lasithi Plateau. Inside the room, as well as in the outdoor area, there are various types of windmill constructions on display.
